This early painting of Natural Bridge Virginia, was likely copied from another illustration which Millet as a young man may have found in a publication. At this time not a great deal of the “great American landscape” was known, so for Frank as a young man to take the back of his dresser door (note the door latch on the mid left of the painting), and copy it with such care shows his natural talent.
